When does the F1 Sim Racing Championship start?

The most exciting e-sport competition of the year, the F1 Sim Racing World Championship will take place over 12 thrilling rounds in the first three months of the year. It kicks off on January 14, 2025, with three days of frantic racing. The second session will follow in February, from the 11th to the 13th, and the last will take place between March 25 and 27. And don’t forget that this year’s Formula 1 World Championship on a real circuit kicks off on March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. So you can look forward to some thrilling racing right through to the end of April!

What’s the F1 Sim Racing Championship like?

As every year, the 10 official teams will present their three best drivers, who will compete in the 12 races scheduled over the three sessions. Each three-day session will feature four races, with qualifying sessions and Grands Prix run over 50% of the actual distances. The prize is $750,000.

The championship will be held live at the prestigious EFG studio in Stockholm, Sweden. E-sport racers will be able to compete on legendary circuits such as Melbourne, Shanghai, Bahrain, Jeddah, Austin, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps, Interlagos and Yas Marina. The challenges are likely to be varied and exciting for drivers, confronted with tracks as legendary as they are technical. And for Sim Racing enthusiasts, it’s a chance to admire the incredible performance of these professional drivers, as well as their impressive levels of precision and reflexes. It’s sure to make your heart race with every turn and every overtaking maneuver.

Transfers and new recruits

Many changes this year, with 10 transfers and 6 new recruits. Note that each team is presenting at least one new rider for this 2025 championship. Never before has a year seen so many changes! But the most striking transfer is that of Jarno Opmeer, the double champion of 2020 and 2021, who leaves Mercedes to join Oracle Red Bull. He will compete alongside reigning champion Rasmussen. We can’t wait to find out more about this exciting duo.

An interesting arrival is 16-year-old Otis Lawrence at Aston Martin, who becomes the youngest driver in the championship.
