The SimRacing Expo 2026 took place October 16–18 at the Frankfurt Messe, drawing a record 29,580 visitors, according to the organizer. Fanatec, Asetek, Simucube, and Kunos showcased their latest hardware and games at the event. This article provides an overview of these announcements, organized into three sections: steering wheels, pedal sets, and games.

Fanatec launched its new Podium Pedals Sport pedal set right at the start of the show, priced at €599.95. Asetek unveiled the GT Nova, a GT steering wheel priced at €299.99 before tax, which will be available in March 2027. Assetto Corsa EVO will receive its Free Roam mode on December 9, which recreates the Nordschleife and part of the Eifel region. For gamers, most of the hardware on display won’t be available until 2027, but the Fanatec pedal set is already in the catalog, and Free Roam will let players drive on the roads of the Eifel before the end of the year.

Among the steering wheels showcased in Frankfurt, screens are no longer limited to the very high-end models: Fanatec is including a large one on its upcoming flagship model, and Asetek is including a small one on a much more affordable steering wheel.

Fanatec Project Obsidian

Fanatec unveiled Project Obsidian earlier in its development than usual, precisely because demand for this type of steering wheel was high. Its 5-inch screen is housed under a single glass panel, along with the RPM LEDs and gear selector lighting, on an all-aluminum frame. It’s also the brand’s first steering wheel designed from the ground up for SimHub, which will be able to send game data to it via USB or Wi-Fi. Since it also reads UDP telemetry—widely used by console games—its display won’t be limited to PC gamers. Fanatec expects it to be released in 2027 and has not yet announced a price.

Asetek GT Nova

Asetek is taking the opposite approach with the GT Nova, a 290-mm GT steering wheel priced at €299.99 before tax, or about €360 with 20% VAT. Its OLED screen measures just 1.3 inches, as it is primarily used to operate MultiLink, a system that stores up to twelve settings on a single selector. You select the setting with the selector, then adjust its value using the scroll wheel under your thumb, without needing a separate button for each function. The steering wheel will be released in March 2027 with the Asetek quick-release mechanism, and a separately sold adapter will be required to mount it on a base from another brand.

Ascher Racing AURA GT

Ascher Racing, on the other hand, does not include a screen on its new line AURA GT, which can be customized. You can choose a complete 320-mm steering wheel—with a round rim for the 32R or a flat bottom for the 32D—or just the control hub to keep your own rim. Each model is also available with two electronics options: the USB version is configured in SimHub, while the Simucube Link version connects to a Simucube 3 and is configured using its Tuner software. Ascher is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for the first deliveries and will announce pricing at a later date.

Formula 1 fans will soon have a new option from Fanatec, with the ClubSport Formula V3 Oracle Red Bull Racing expected to be available starting in mid-November. It features the RB22 livery on a forged carbon fiber front panel, and the Podium Advanced paddle module comes standard. The previous Red Bull version, built in 2024 based on the Formula V2.5, was produced in limited quantities, whereas this model will remain in the catalog. Its price has not yet been announced, though the standard Formula V3 retails for around €350 in the brand’s online store.

Pedal Sets: Fanatec Updates Its Lineup, Simucube Lowers Prices

Fanatec Podium Pedals Sport

The Podium Pedals Sport It went on sale on the first day of the show for €599.95, and the Fanatec store already lists it as out of stock. It uses the same mechanism as the Podium Pedals but includes only the gas and brake pedals, and its GT-style aluminum plates allow you to brake with either your left or right foot. The brake features a force sensor capable of detecting over 200 kg, and its travel, stiffness, and progressive response can be adjusted tool-free, all the way down to a brake with almost no travel for those who prefer a very firm pedal. The full version, with three pedals, is expected toward the end of the year.

Fanatec ClubSport Pedals V4

The ClubSport, meanwhile, is set to be completely redesigned for the first time since the original 2008 model. The ClubSport Pedals V4, still in the prototype stage, feature the adjustable mechanics of the Podium Pedals but at a more affordable price that will position them in the middle of the Fanatec lineup. They are scheduled for release in 2027, and the brand promises to reveal more details in the coming months.

Simucube ActivePedal Sport

With theActivePedal Sport, Simucube makes the active pedal more affordable, at €901 before tax, or just over €1,080 with 20% VAT. As with the Pro and Ultimate models, the resistance doesn’t come from a spring but from a motor, which can generate up to 100 kg over a 60 mm stroke and let you feel the ABS or wheel lock under your foot. The Sport, on the other hand, is much shorter at 250 mm and can function as a brake, accelerator, or clutch. It requires a Simucube Link Hub, sold separately, and will be available in early 2027.

Simulators: MOZA Focuses on Motion and Artificial Intelligence

MOZA Racing

MOZA Racing set up eight simulators at its booth, which visitors could try for free in seven-minute sessions. The brand primarily used the simulators to demonstrate its current equipment under real-world conditions: a R21 Ultra base with the Mission R steering wheel on iRacing, a rally setup with a gearshift and handbrake, and its HMA150 motion system across several cockpits. Two stations showcased its artificial intelligence tools in Assetto Corsa, with AI Coach, which, according to MOZA, provides feedback through the steering wheel and pedals to help drivers feel the correct technique, and races against an AI-controlled opponent. The brand’s new products are arriving right after the show: the Ford Mustang GTD steering wheel and the Airbus MA3F sidestick will be released on October 22, and they’ll be featured in their own article.

Games: Assetto Corsa EVO Sets December 9 as the Release Date for Free Roam

Assetto Corsa EVO

Kunos and 505 Games announced the release date for the Free Roam mode ofAssetto Corsa EVO : It will be released on December 9 with Update 0.10, on PC and still in Early Access. The mode features a true-to-scale recreation of part of the Eifel region, scanned using LiDAR, including the 20.8 km Nordschleife, the surrounding villages, and the roads connecting them. Players will be able to drive there solo or in multiplayer mode, amid AI-controlled traffic, with changing weather conditions, nighttime driving, and optional time trials. Kunos plans to expand the map to other parts of the region in future updates.

RaceRoom and BeamNG.drive

RaceRoom showcased its Historic Update on stage, and as of October 20, players received a major update to the force feedback. Tire-to-track contact is calculated more accurately, the power steering has been reworked, and new settings allow players to smooth out the feedback or add road vibrations.

Finally, on PS5, BeamNG.drive was playable at the Fanatec booth a few days before its early access release on October 19. It retails for €21.99 on the PlayStation Store, featuring split-screen play for up to four players and support for steering wheels such as Fanatec’s ClubSport DD+ or Thrustmaster’s T300 RS.
